At Pure Periodontics, investing in world-leading technology is part of who we are as a specialist practice. Every year, I review the latest research, explore emerging clinical techniques and look at how new technologies could benefit our patients. We only introduce innovations that are supported by evidence and have the potential to improve the care we provide.
It is this commitment to excellence that recently helped earn us the Great Patient Experience 2026 badge from Doctify Dental, placing us among the top 70-90% of practices based on genuine patient feedback.
Technology continues to transform the way periodontal disease is diagnosed, treated and managed. From minimally invasive laser treatment to guided biofilm therapy and regenerative techniques that support healing, modern advances allow us to provide care that is more precise, comfortable and tailored to each patient.
Here are some of the technologies we use to help deliver exceptional periodontal care in London.
EMS Air-Flow® for Advanced Hygiene and Stain Removal
Our hygienists use the renowned EMS Air-Flow system, one of the most effective methods of professional mechanical tooth cleaning available today. Using specially formulated powders, Air-Flow removes plaque biofilm and stubborn stains with remarkable precision. The treatment is gentle, non-invasive and suitable for natural teeth, restorations and dental implants.
Patients often comment on how comfortable and quick the process is. In many cases, Air-Flow can achieve a level of cleanliness that traditional polishing methods simply cannot match. It is an excellent choice for maintaining gum health, particularly for patients undergoing periodontal treatment or looking to prevent further disease progression.
Waterlase™ Laser Technology for Minimally Invasive Gum Care
As a specialist periodontist, I’m always looking for ways to make treatment as precise and comfortable as possible while achieving the best possible clinical outcomes. That’s one of the reasons we invested in Waterlase laser technology.
Pure Periodontics is the only specialist periodontics practice in central London to offer Waterlase. Used in moderate to severe cases of periodontal disease, Waterlase combines laser energy with a gentle spray of water to treat infected gum tissue with precision, without the heat, vibration or pressure associated with traditional instruments.
One of the key advantages is that it helps seal tiny blood vessels more quickly, which can make the treated area feel less sensitive and reduce discomfort following treatment.
Recent studies show that Waterlase treatment can lead to noticeable improvements in gum health, including reduced bleeding and shallower periodontal pockets. It may also offer advantages over conventional deep cleaning alone by helping the gums reattach more effectively.

Supporting Natural Healing with ENDORET® (PRGF®)
One of the latest technologies we’ve introduced is ENDORET® (PRGF®), which may be used to support healing after certain periodontal procedures.
PRGF (Plasma Rich in Growth Factors) is created using a small sample of your own blood, similar to a routine blood test. The sample is processed to concentrate the natural growth factors involved in tissue repair, which are then applied directly to the treatment area during your procedure.
Because PRGF uses your own biological healing factors, there is no synthetic material, donor tissue or risk of rejection. It is most commonly used during regenerative procedures and certain soft tissue treatments, where it may help create a more supportive environment for healing.
Every patient heals differently, but research and clinical experience suggest that PRGF may help support early wound stability, soft tissue healing and reduce swelling or discomfort for some patients during the early stages of recovery. It is designed to complement -not replace- good oral hygiene and the aftercare advice provided by your periodontist.
If I feel PRGF could benefit your treatment, I’ll discuss it with you as part of your personalised treatment plan and explain whether it is appropriate for your individual needs.
Specialist Periodontal Care in the Heart of London
Technology alone doesn’t deliver great outcomes – it needs to be combined with experience, careful diagnosis and treatment that’s tailored to each individual. That’s the philosophy we follow here at Pure Periodontics.
Whether that involves advanced professional cleaning with EMS Air-Flow, minimally invasive laser treatment with Waterlase or regenerative options such as PRGF, every recommendation we make is based on your individual needs and clinical assessment.
Our new City clinic at Austin Friars, just minutes from Liverpool Street, Bank and Moorgate stations, has also been designed with patient comfort in mind, featuring calming colours, soft lighting and a welcoming environment to make every visit as comfortable as possible.
